Save the Date: Baptism Sunday at Marilla Landing
One of our favorite Sundays of the year is almost here.
On Sunday, August 30, Open Arms Community Church will gather at Marilla Landing for a special outdoor worship service, baptisms, and a church picnic.
If you’ve never experienced one of our Baptism Sundays, this is a wonderful opportunity to worship together in God’s creation and celebrate the life-changing work He is doing in people’s lives.
One Service at Marilla Landing
Instead of meeting at our church building, we’ll gather for one combined worship service at 10:00 AM at Marilla Landing.
Following the service, we’ll celebrate baptisms as people publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ. Afterward, we’ll enjoy a church picnic together.
It’s always one of the most encouraging Sundays of the year as we worship, celebrate, eat together, and enjoy time with our church family.
What Is Baptism?
Baptism doesn’t save us, but it is an important step of obedience for those who have chosen to follow Jesus.
It’s a public declaration that we’ve placed our faith in Christ and that our old life has been buried with Him, while we’ve been raised to new life through His resurrection.
Every baptism tells a story of God’s grace, forgiveness, and transformation.
Whether you’ve been following Jesus for many years or you’ve recently made a decision to trust Him, baptism is an opportunity to publicly share what God has done in your life.
Thinking About Being Baptized?
If you’ve never been baptized since placing your faith in Christ and you’d like to learn more, we’d love to talk with you.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll share more information about baptism and what to expect. If you’re interested in taking that next step, contact the church office or speak with one of our pastors.
