Out of the Tomb: Living the Resurrection Life
He is risen! He is risen indeed! Easter morning is not just a celebration—it’s a declaration. After the sorrow of Good Friday and the silence of the tomb, resurrection bursts onto the scene with unstoppable hope. In Matthew 28:1–10, we find two faithful women—Mary Magdalene and the other Mary—returning to the tomb. They came expecting […]
Darkness: Finding God in the Silence of Holy Saturday
By Angel Atkinson, Open Arms Care Coordinator Have you ever found yourself in complete darkness? Not the kind when you close your eyes or turn off the lights… but real darkness. The kind that feels like utter despair. A solid black hole where you don’t know how you’re going to climb out—or if you even […]
The Cross That Shakes, Suffers, and Speaks
Good Friday invites us to stand at the foot of the cross—not as distant observers, but as participants in the weight of what happened there. It is a day of deep sorrow and holy tension. A day where love and suffering meet. From the cross, Jesus does something remarkable: He cares. He shakes. He suffers. And […]
The Call To Serve No Matter What
Maundy Thursday isn’t loud or dramatic, but it reveals the heart of Jesus. As He kneels to wash His disciples’ feet—even the one who would betray Him—we’re reminded that real love serves, sacrifices, and surrenders, even when it costs us.
He Washed Judas’s Feet Too
Judas betrayed Jesus—but before that, Jesus washed his feet. This Holy Wednesday reflection explores what that means for us today and how we respond to grace, forgiveness, and the weight of our own choices.
The Authority of Jesus and the Weight of Our Choices
Holy Week moves quickly, and by Tuesday, the tone shifts. The cheers fade, and Jesus begins confronting the deeper issue—our hearts. This Holy Tuesday reflection challenges us to move beyond empty words and choose real obedience, surrender, and alignment with Christ.
Cleansing the Temple
In this Holy Monday reflection, Josh Hatcher explores how Jesus cleansing the temple wasn’t just about confronting corruption, but restoring access to God. The outer courts, meant for outsiders to worship, had been taken over—challenging us to ask what in our lives is crowding out space meant for God and who might be pushed away because of it.
Hosanna in the Highest: Welcoming the Cornerstone
Palm Sunday marks the beginning of Holy Week and reveals the true nature of Jesus as King—not one of power and domination, but of humility and peace. As the crowds cried out “Hosanna—save now,” they were calling on the Messiah without fully understanding what was to come. This moment invites us to consider our own response: will we build our lives on Jesus, the cornerstone, or stumble over Him?
A Choice To Make: The Last Supper Before the Cross
Tension Builds in Jerusalem Jesus had been in Jerusalem since Sunday, riding in to cheers from the crowds. By the time Thursday rolled around that week, things were very tense in Jerusalem. Only days before, Jesus had been in the temple, angrily driving out all of the “snakes” and clearing out what he called a […]
You’ll Never Guess Where They Found the Body
The city was now quiet. The accused was guilty. The case closed. The body accounted for and sealed away. Or at least… it should have been. Three days had passed since a gruesome public execution. The body was sealed away in a cold dark tomb. Guards posted at the stone blocking the entrance. Yet when […]
